My Riquewihr

Elegant vacation rentals in Alsace

Tucked away in the wine-growing region, in the most famous village of Alsace, our holiday gîtes, Les Écuries Seigneuriales, in RIQUEWHIR, will provide comfort, harmony, and peace to your stay.

Located in the center of Alsace, RIQUEWIHR, world-famous medieval village of Alsace, is the logical departure point to your exploration of the Alsace Region.

Once unpacked, you’ll be fifteen minutes away from COLMAR, twenty minutes from SELESTAT, and about one hour from STRASBOURG, who will reveal to you its downtown beauty, from ancient times to now.

If you wish to drown yourself in the delightful fragrant vintages’ roads, leave your car in the parking lot and start hiking through the wines that take the shape of the foothills of the Vosges Mountains and of its small villages illustrating the Route des Vins d’Alsace (Alsace Wine Road).

Better still, at the end of a day spent exploring Alsace, you will get back to RIQUEWIHR right when the crowd of tourists is dying down and you will then have the privilege of getting peacefully closer to the beauty of this exceptional village by night.

Architecture and History connoisseurs, Arts lovers, panorama and wildlife observers, gourmets looking for new flavors, Alsace, RIQUEWIHR, and our gîtes will satisfy all your senses.

A History of grapevines and fine stones,

Our gîtes are set up in an old Alsace-style Renaissance home, built in 1506 on the first fortification rampart of the medieval city of RIQUEWIHR. The property faces the famous Schoenenbourg Vineyard (Vintage Wine Label) overlooking the village.

Restoration works of the building lasted two years and were done in close partnership with the Architecte des Bâtiments de France (French Architectural Review Board), in strict compliance with the time-period techniques and materials such as hydrated lime for the facades, eaves blocks chiseled according to the originals, dormer-windows, of the shed-dormer type (dog-house dormers in Alsace), flat tiles called beaver-tail tiles (German: Bieberschwantz) with double overlapping.

Successfully combining restoration norms with needs for modern comfort, this fascinating work of architecture and restoration led to the conception of cozy and enticing gites whose doors you won’t resist opening.
